Perfect Pin Curls

Pin curling is just a simpler way of curling your hair rather than using rollers. I pin curled my hair on my own for the very first time (last week). I tried to do it one time when my hair was just washed and blow dried, but it wasn't coming out the way I wanted. I did it last week with my hair straightened, so of course it has a different look. I'm gonna try to do it again on non-straightened hair sometime soon.. maybe next week? We'll see! When I did my hair thought, it came out so nice that I ended up doing my mom's hair for the weekend! There's a how-to video at the bottom if you're interested, and pictures at the bottom. :)

When I did my hair, I hadn't watched the video yet, but for anyone who's never done it yet and has no clue how to start, this video is perfect!

Flat Ironing

I flat iron my hair from time to time, but not so often because of 1) the risk of heat damage and 2) it takes FOREVER. I did it, however, yesterday, and it took about 3 1/2 hours! (This is to get it bone straight. Also, I had to clean my parakeet cage today, and I did it on the balcony and it's ruined! So I have to touch it up again) I did snap some pictures yesterday, though (smart move, Sophie!)
Flat ironing is a simple process- once you've gotten used to it- but if you've never done it before, watch some videos, get some tips, and try not to burn yourself! There's a how to video is the previous blog if you're looking for one! Pics below :)

Pomp, Pomp, Pomp it Up!

Since I decided to blow dry my hair this week, I've been wearing my hair in up-dos (in an attempt to give my ends a break!) So far, I've done a bun for 2 days, a Janelle Monae-type hairstyle for one day, and today (Thursday) I'm gonna straighten it for the weekend. )It'll probably be washed and back to natural by Monday!) I've been working the pomp (hump, mohawk) thing all week. Time for a change! Pics below!

I had the back in to a braid. I thought I was french braiding it... but I wasn't! LOL. It still came out nicely done!

My next post will be on flat ironing. If you're interested in styles and tips, check these videos on here and here :). Do it up!

P.S. INVEST IN SATIN ROLLERS!!!
